ABSTRACT

The correlation among run up with magnitude and distance from epicenter to run up research were done to know characteristics of the run up were based on magnitude and distance from epicenter to run up, characteristics of tsunamigenic earthquakes in Indonesia, and dangerous level of zone toward tsunami disaster in Indonesia. The latitude, longitude of run up and epicenter were processed mathematics and trigonometry using Microsoft Excel were resulted distance from epicenter to run up. Data were made correlation among run up, maximum and average run up with magnitude on a graph, correlation among run up, maximum run up with distance from epicenter to run up on a graph. The graphs were analyzed correlation. Analyze the tsunami zone map in Indonesia were made with run up and magnitude data from year 1629 – 2000. Run up can not definite by one factor example magnitude or distance from epicenter to run up. The Indonesia tsunamigenic earthquake is usually magnitude ranges from 6 to 8,5 Richter scale. Sulawesi, Maluku, Irian Jaya are very dangerous zone of tsunami in Indonesia. Java Island, Nusa Tenggara, Sumatera are danger zone of tsunami. Borneo Island is safe zone of tsunami in Indonesia.
